BDR Burden Resistor
1Ω burden shunt for Current Transducers/Transformers
The BDR01 burden resistor provides a convenient method to convert the current output of sensing devices like a current transformer, to an equivalent voltage signal.
The conversion from current to voltage at the input of a PPA power analyzer, combines the benefits of greater resilience to environmental noise inherent to a current signal, with an increased dynamic range that the external (voltage) input of a PPA current channel offers.
It is for this reason that the BDR01 is a recommended accessory together with our LEM-1 interface, when using LEM or Danisense Fluxgate current transducers over 6m away from the measurement instrument.
